Fun Outdoor Activities For Couples Who Want A Cardio Workout

If you and your partner are looking to get outdoors and get a great cardio workout, then you should consider a few of the following activities. While most people might immediately jump to walking or jogging, there are lots of other fun things that you can do. So, if you find jogging a bit boring, and are looking for a more exciting way to exercise outdoors and get in a fantastic cardio workout, then here are some ideas.

Kayaking

Kayaking is an awesome because it doesn't feel like you're exercising, it feels like your just having fun. However, kayaking does provide some amazing health benefits, including an excellent cardio workout. You can kayak in a lake, river or offshore in the ocean. You don't even have to own a kayak. Many outfitters will rent you one and even provide classes for those who have never kayaked before.

If you end up liking kayaking, and live close to a public river or lake, and also have a car, then you should consider buying a couple of kayaks. This will end up being cheaper than renting them every weekend.

Mountain Biking

If you would rather spend time on land, and you live near a big park with lots of trails, then think about mountain biking. While many people love mountain biking because its fun riding over hills and through the beautiful scenery, it also provides an awesome cardio workout. Unlike flat level cycling, when you ride mountain trails, you will be pushing yourself up steep hills and getting a great cardiovascular benefit. The other benefits to mountain biking is that you don't have to worry about vehicular traffic, like you do with regular roadway cycling.

Hiking

If you don't own bikes, and don't have the space in your place to keep them and therefore won't be buying them soon, then you can take advantage of those mountain trails anyway. What you can do is go hiking. Hiking is great because it gets you out into nature, which is an awesome change from the everyday workday. Hiking provides cardiovascular benefits because you will be walking up steep inclines.

Ultimate Frisbee

If you prefer an activity that involves a group of people, then you'll love ultimate Frisbee. This is a team sport that many adults play on the weekends either in pickup groups, or formal leagues. You can find local teams online. The best way to do this is to search for the ultimate Frisbee teams that play at your local park and see if they have pick up games or open spots on their league. Frisbee is great for cardio health because it involves running around a field.
